TBH I dont mind the risk, and as they'll be used at sub-zero temperatures, heat removal should'nt be an issue. Its more the sealing and general toughness I'm concerned about. I suppose I could get two and carry a spare.
Right now I have a case full Sigma halogen lights (x5) and batteries (x4). Only half of which bloody work. I need to squeeze a season out of them really but have decided not to throw any more mone down that money pit.
The unit will be fine - it's intelligently heat-sunk. My batterypack/charger packed up after 3 months of pretty minimal use. Their attitude was simply "screw you" you can buy another at full price. Which is a disgrace, but they know you aren't going to sue them in the states if you're from over here.
