What makes that a bike for winter? (serious question)
If it gets dirty on a ride it's easier to wash down carbon and not have to be to fussed about leaving it damp where as ali is a pain and not very good with road salt and other shit on the roads.

Thought people might like to take a peak at a project of mine. In the process of refurbing a bike and making it into a bit of a cruiser for my girlfriend.
If anyone is interested in any of the specifics on paint and parts then I'll do a ninja edit.

Paint looks really nice. Art in your house looks hip. And lame.

Fair enough. Old piece on the easel that I chucked on to cover up my house mates computer game print that I don't like. Each to their own I guess.

i have visited planet x website recently and found KC and his avatar on their front page :)) which, i think, proves your point. i also realized that KC is in quite respectful age as well (which is unexpected, looking at all the bike/frame exchange/sell/buy hassle he goes through). bottom line - very cool :))

the ali is painted on 99.9% of bikes and clear coated on the other 0.1 % so water and road salt are not an issue. It would only be an issue for someone who stripped their frame and then left it but that would corrode just in the air anyway.
I muc off and wash down my ali bike every weekend and it is no problem at all, a perfect winter bike material. My steel bikes however used to bleed rust when I pulled up the front wheel or turned them upside down!

I just bought this yesterday (for ~425£)
It is a Bianchi l'Una (supposed to be "white carbon", if this means anything, and I could'nt find any reference to such a frame older than 2004) with Campa Chorus group (9 speed, written "Carbon BB System" above the levers, so I guess anterior to 2000). Seatpost, Stem and handlebars are ITM Millenium (alu, not carbon), rear wheel is chorus hub/mavic sup rim and front wheel is record hub/fir ares rim (this rim is not in very good condition). It is the first "modern" (meaning with ergo levers) geared bike I buy. It looked like a good deal, but if someone knows better just tell me. Although do you think there is something that needs to be changed (appart from the saddle) ?

and also can someone tell me what happened with this headset ? It looks wrong (gaps above and below) but I don't know semi-integrated/integrated stuff...

Nice. Similar to what I'm up to. No brakes?
-
• #35145
No braks+traditional steel clips=pain & disaster.

• #35146
I rode with those set-up before and it's fine, just doesn't inspired confident with the single strap.
double strap would make a huge difference, feet feel more secure in the pedal.

no!
but black grips would look better

I like my clear grips :)
& I know what your saying about double straps but the campy clips only have a slot for single & in my head, going down the whole NOS campy idea I couldn't get a set which would accommodate double's. Couldn't even say if they ever made them..
Maybe after some time & riding her in I can make some small changes, this being one of them. Most main components campy, stem Cinelli 1a 80mm thanks to Crows. Frame with from Tinman. Everything else I sourced elsewhere.
Probably that it's cheaper than his summer bike?
