  • The blazer/sports jacket and jeans combo is the working uniform of media/advertising managers. They adopt the jacket to let the client know they are not the lowly designers but the decision makers, but are still cool media bods. Advertising ones wear a tucked in business shirt underneath. Creatives wear t shirts underneath.

I have broken out the tweed with jeans occasionally, just because I wanted to wear the tweed again, but as a rule I refuse to accept business casual exists, and you should either wear jeans and a t shirt or wear a decent suit. I appear to be alone in this conviction.

As for the Smiths. I've been a fan since the day my sister brought home the 7 inch of Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now. I like Morrisey's vocal delivery, I like the witty lyrics, and I like the perfect fit of the rhythm section to the music. But most of all I love Johnny Marr's guitar playing.

What I don't get is why Johnny Marr's post-Smiths efforts have been so fucking disappointing.
