I use a couple of benchmarks alongside actual use to measure changes in everyday use :)
Basically, no single benchmark or combination of benchmarks is fool-proof or the be all and end all of performance. I like to use them to help confirm any changes I've noticed. Like, if I use a compcache and think it's slower and then a benchmark confirms it's slower, then it's probably slower.
I didn't know about this lag fix so I'd like to have a go on a SGS with it installed to see how it compares to stock and to the Desire.
I still wouldn't buy one though :)
