i wanna buy this, what do you think?
http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190444992848&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:ITHow the f' did that end up in London? It's like a supermarked version of a late 80's TT-bike.. They used to be sold in Denmark, and it's not rare at all.. At least not here (in Denmark).

Ha, hi all...first post.! Fak being stuck down here in New Zealand, really limits ones accessibility to decent bike parts at a reasonable cost. Am incredibly envious of all you euro/Uk folk with frames and components at abundance. Don't get me wrong there are bits and bobs about, but it's kind of a lost and forgotten island down here...getting better if you know where to look. Perseverance.

My brother brought an Avanti track frame back from his last trip, paid NZ$199 for it in the lbs, which was about £70 then.

I sold this on last year as it was way too small for me, best looking frame I ever owned.
Hirame Ishiwata double butted, chromed Shimano dropouts/600 Headset & very nice gold coloured Mavic stem. Gorgeous In my humble opinion.

The world would be a better place if you could still get Hirame frames. I had two of the cheap Tange 0245 ones (think my dad is still using one for shopping) and my "expensive" (£120 in 1986) Ishiwata 022 one. Can't remember the exact sequence of model names, my gold one is definitely an Osaka Pro, and the lower priced ones were Kando, Sumo, Kyoto and one other IIRC. I think the cheapest one had Tange 0265 tubing and pressed dropouts, I had the second one up with 0245 and forged dropouts.

Anyone know where I can get a front rack like this? Classic French meets low(ish) rider?

The bike in picture is a japanese one (they're crazy for randonnees bicycle there), so it's likely to be either Grand Bois' own or Nitto.

Keep up.

• #35820
But here's another Nitto one that have closer resemblance despite not having the long arm/extra mount;

Yes, it's an old repost, and it's a fail because it doesn't have Ti rims :-)

I guess this has been done before too, but I'll put my head in the trap... :)
