  • Max your rapidly turning into an expert in the edscoble/DFP league.

  • You're exaggerating !!

  • I think 26 is the way to go as I am mountainbike-less after my P7 got stolen (was going to SS it) and miss Epping forest so much... I am not very good at tricks anyway, though I like big jumps and fast singletrack

  • Have a serious look at the Dialed Bikes Prince Albert and search on some MTB forums to see what people think of them.
They're strong enough to throw around, with good goemetry and if you pop the saddle right up will climb well enough too.

  • I think a mate of mine has a nice purple Prince Albert*. Dunno where I'd find a pic though.

*That wasn't meant to sound as it did.

  • Curtis SX24, but I would say that:

You can get SS specific frame also.

  • Why not balance the scales by posting your 26" as well.

  • Cough.

  • Damn.

  • Looks like the Dialled PA only comes with a vert drop out, so not really SS specific

I am getting more confused now, but the CURTIS SX26 looks perfect if you can ss it

I'm thinking the NS Sub 26 or Majesty 26, maybe the Cotic simple..

  • NS Sub 26 !!

  • is it just me or are all the fixed trick bikes just beginning to look more and more like these
why don't they just buy a jump bike ! more fun surely ?

  • Get a Last - my mate that I ride DJ with has one and its fucking gorgeous. http://www.last-bikes.de/products.php?cat=4&product=4

    rides like a dream.

    totally agree

Go read the 26 vs 700 thread on Forum33 - No one can provide a satisfactory answer. It's a fashion thing.

  • Also, Mobi.

You do realise the Majesty has a spanish BB right. You'll only be able to run BMX cranks.
I personally don't see it as an issue but some people do.

  • Have a look at the transition double, Ive got a transition Bottlerocket and its awesome, so I can only imagine the double would be just as much fun.

I really wish I had space for mine down here in London, I really miss it.

As for your forks, go air travel, Rock shox pike are excellent and can be locked right down and you can probably pick em up cheap now as theyve been discontinued. Alternatively Marzocchi djs or 4x are good options and the Rockshox argyle looks good too.

PS If you buy a Nicolai I will hate you forvever!

  • What do people think of the on one offerings for this kind of use?

I'd like to get myself a chunky winter commuter, killed my 15 year old mountain bso last winter but it did kick ass being able to boon it home when it was snowing and all the people on skinny tires were only on as long as they didn't lean.

What I have in mind is a stupid play bike something like object and dovs bikes not fast but fun, rigid or front suspension and probably signlespeed. Room for some reasonably fat tyres

  • You could pick up an old (but quality) mtb on retrobike and run it as a singlespeed city bike, thats what i did with my kona humu but its becoming the wet weather/utility bike now. I tend to just use the azonic in the snow - its ace for sliding round corners.

  • A friends got an inbred which he loves.

Failing that, if you don't mind the extra weight, some fo the DMR completes are pretty impressive.

If I didn't have the Maj, I'd serious consider a superco but there's probably a lot less seattube than you'd ideally need.

  • My recent acquisition.

Meh - they are REALLY heavy and I'm not sure if they represent that good value for money..

    Oh, and they ugly too

  • I disagree, the transition isn't too bad weight wise and can be had for less than the 950ish RRP from the usual suspects.
