As I first said, I respect those who are putting this together...but how I see it is the BFF is one of the most established tournies in the calendar esp in London. Therefore for me it's one I was looking forward to playing in with Cosmic...I know BAD liked the fact they are the defending champs from last year...but if the organizers want to change the format this year, thats their choice.
The problem I see is the way in which the format has been handled.
For a start, if the organizers are so set on having mix up new teams, then they should have selected the teams themselves by instructing all players to submit their names, then kinda seeding them each to create teams that are well balanced...experienced with new players etc. Instead what has happened is everyone rushed to get a 'super team' together in the fear of missing out.
Then the rule format has been announced after everyone selected their teams, which as a result has put some teams/players out as they want to be a part of the fun day, but not at the expense of playing polo which is different from the current established game.
I guess for some players (myself included), the current rules that essentially make polo what it is today is what we like to play. Personally, fun polo for me doesn't mean silly rule changes...but hey, I take polo too seriously all the time...so ultimately, i have a choice to play or not and at the moment thats still part of what makes polo cool...ie no one has ownership over it, so anything goes. you're either in or out.
so as you were BFFCOM

Is there any movement on the shuffle rule EP? This seems to be the major problem.
This thread needs a democratic poll. Everyone loves a poll.
To shuffle, or not to shuffle... -

My dad is making the effort to come up for this, and it's not even going to be polo.
lol!
(sorry. I'm trying not to read this thread, but that is fucking hilarious).

yeah, imagine if you go to Konstanz, Utrecht or somewhere else and they start putting in stupid rules just to piss people off.
I usually don't buy tickets to tournaments until I've registered and have an idea of what's going on. Maybe I do things backwards though.

people wouldn't moan if it wasn't lame.
yes they would!!

• #517
Seriously though, Gabes. If you had given us warning about your dad, we would have tried to do something a bit more standard. At this stage perhaps the best we can do is have a gift bag ready for him - I know he likes cider. I'll see about getting a special chair, but this might be difficult. Council rules and everything. Does he have any special dietary requirements?

Can I please call for some clarity form someone who is capable of strining a whole thought together in one sitting;
Will the anything that crosses the line is a goal rule be changed?
Will the Euro Cheater Mallet rule stand? If so, will the BFF Comm be providing mallets to players who do not have non ECMs? -
• #519
Send an email to Jon, Em. It's actually his tournament.
Also, if people are that concerned, I'm sure he'd be very happy to have some help.

I want this answered in a public space which can be quoted if needs be. -

With regards to ECM's:
There will be a few loaner mallets, but i will personally provide pipe and tooling to Euro Cheaters to convert their mallets.
