Why don't you just get a decent BMX chain, surely they're just as strong or stronger?

Because mikec races the track, so wants a nice smooth rolling track racing chain, not a clunky, super strong but not designed to run smooth BMX chain :-)
There is more to chains than how strong or shiny they are ;-)

Yes I like to spend a bit of extra cash for a nice smooth chain. Those BMX ones are ok but they aren't as well made and I like my bling.

kmc d101?
-
• #10
haha why NJS mike? you hipster!
the KMC ones are proper bo. The Aussies have been using the K710SL, not sure how comparable the price is to the Izumi ST? I wouldn't lose sleep over either of those

I have that KMC one hanging in my shed, about 200 miles on it.

So why have we all been on Izumi STs then? they sound like a bag of bolts!

Mike: If you are looking at the KMC K710, they are doing it here for 20quid. You have the option of go-fast gold or quick-silver metal :)

No they are not. Did you actually read the page you posted?
It is the same one as 2 posts above.
They are £30, not £20

^^ ahh to be fair though it does make it look like £20 by the way the page is laid out. I went for the KMCKool at £12 seems like a good strobg chain that should last the winter miles
Anyone got any decent, unused, 1/8 track chains for sale?
Izumi or something nice and strong and preferably loud?
Thanks
