Ian, from the Regent had his bike nicked from Portland Square yesterday - snipped cable lock apparently. Bought off Huge16 off here: details as follows if any of you see it about. He'd recently changed the saddle to a german vintage leather thing:
Triumph Geared Bike
Bit of British (actually Taiwan) Steel. Pearlised blue frame - nice colour but some cosmetic scratching esp to front forks
Top Tube 21in
BB to middle top tube 22in
BB to top of seat tube 23in
27 x 1 1/4 wheels - chrome pitted and rusted in pictures
Dura Ace brakes - some life in the pads
Weinmann levers
ITM Stem (80mm)
Steel Bars (42cm) - chrome pitted in places
Shimano Tourney front and rear mechs - good cosmetic and mechanical condition
SR Custom cranks 170mm - good condition
Michelin tyres - cracked and old but hold the pressure
White saddle on microadjust seatpost - no name and scuffed and has tears
Pedals - no name rusty but work OK. Will chuck in some better pedals
Overall this is no lightweight but would be a good winter commuter.
Mechs, headset and axles cleaned and regreased.
New inner and outer cabling throughout
New chain

Hi guys, first post, my girlfriends dad had his bike stolen today on oxford street, london.
Its a Roberts bike, red and cream, has been custom made to him and is his pride and joy.
Anyone have any tips on where it may be sold? i'm watching ebay and gumtree at the moment.
This is a photo of the bike,
any help would be great !
thanks,

Oh, man. That's awful. Brick Lane early doors tomorrow. Preferably bring serial number and photo evidence of it being his bike, in case you see it and need to persuade the police (if any are in evidence) to reunite you with it.
Also, Oxford Street is CCTVed out the wazoo. Make damn sure the footage is pulled in case there's any chance of identifying the thief. The police will not do this unless you politely make a royal pain in the arse of yourself, so be prepared to spend time badgering them.

first post so can only reply...
my stripped-down mountain bike was nicked from opposite south quay dlr friday c.2pm. despite eye-witness and prob cctv police not interested as "too few resources". 2 kids on foot and one (the "cutter") on bike apparently, so likely Isle of Dogs locals.
Bike all silver/black, with no distinguishing features - it is label free.
- 21" frame, rigid fork, bars and bar ends - all bare silver aluminium.
- Black XT/x221 wheels, black procraft seatpost, black/grey arrow saddle, black deore cranks, black/silver wellgo pedals.
@trich926 - I was at Brick lane from c8:45-11 today and saw very few bikes worth more than 50 quid and only one obviously dodgy non-stall bike seller. maybe they have moved on somewhere else. ideas anyone?

Hoped i would never have to post on this thread, but...
Looks like someone made off with my flatmates bike from our communal hallway. My bike was also unlocked in the same hall way but still there cause its not as nice looking. we live n16.
Genesis Flyer: white frame with distinctive red handle bar tape(brand new), Open sport rims (near new with nifty holographic stickers still attached) and reflective tribal pattern stickers on the frame (black in daylight). Full mudguards. Looks used as is commuted on most days (except red grip tape which is brand new and still shiny).
Any leads welcome but not hopeful. end with massive un-smily face : - (

Just had this stolen while in Victoria Park was busy pretending to be able to read a book in the sun when I heard some laughing I turned over to see a yooof riding off on it with two others on bikes and laughing while 7 of his mates walked behind banadans and hoods up.
Not much I really could do and then one of them mentioned the street I live on (bike is left lockedup outside on street) so basicly if I'd called the cops the there would have been dramas afterwards im sure.
I figured I'd just leave it on the thought they will get gang raped in prison at some point.

Ah, the little scally wags.
Local bobby I reported my stolen bike to popped back round on thursday night which I appreciated.
He saw the CCTV footage of my bike being stolen from my doorstep but due to lack of quality to confirm identity of suspect it's effectively useless. He did say however he possibly knows their identity anyway and they are known locally for it. Problem is more renound they are, less likely they are to hold on to it and get caught.
I went to both New Covent Garden and Brick Lane markets today in search of my bike. Got chatting to stall holders at both who kept their good stock in the van, not on show. He had an almost identicle GT to mine but was size down and couple years older. It's worth asking these guys if they have a bike that matches your bikes, as in 'got any with disc brakes'. Something specific enough to narrow it to yours but not enough to for them to cotton on you're searching for your stolen bike. If they do they won't be very helpful.

Never been in this thread before and popped in for a look after (I think) someone tried to take my bike from me this morning, and thinking how upsetting it would be if it had have been lost. Sorry to hear about that Roberts - it's gorgeous, and the rest of these - hope they turn up.

Owners of bikes costing more than a few hundred quid should always take them indoors.
Oh, ok.

But I'd love to try and help my friend whose lovely single speed was nicked on Saturday night around 6pm from Chelsea (amazing, innit?) Mine was taken from Dalston (no surprises there), but seems nowhere is safe...
Black leader 55" frame, brown leather tape handlebars, black Brooks saddle, cream panaracer tyres, silver wheels, silver crank, brakes, pedals etc.
Pic attached...
I know all about flying pigs, but worth a try!
Many thanks :)

Sorry, not much info. I was in a hurry.
Saw a Felt singlespeed, charcoal grey, with Look road pedals (maybe Time), being walked up Helmet Row by obvious non-owner (take my word for it). Approx 12.50pm today (Thu).
Saw him disappear up the pedestrianised bit, turn right, but not reappear around the corner of Ironmonger Row baths. My guess is he went into the block that backs onto the swimming baths on Norman St (can't remember name), or into the underground parking for that block.
That's all.

That's a shame.
On the off chance that anyone comes across a New Armstrong 1952 with 4 speed Sturmey Archer, it's mine. Nicked (completely pointlessly) from round the back of my flat. Locked with an Abus wotsit lock, the decent one (that's what I'm annoyed about). Thanks.

As the police would say, I cant prove they were stolen but there were at least 2 stalls with questionable looking merchandise. They had at least 3-4 disc braked mtbs in the back and couple mid range commuter bikes. All bike thief candy. Theres also a few others selling components and single speeds. Lots of stalls selling 2nd hand power tools also surrounded by grimy Eastern European tradesmen. This was sunday morning.

A friends Charge plug 2009 maroon freestyle was stolen tonight from outside the spurstow in Hackney. It has a white concor saddle with a raintail, white plastic platform peddals and some home made black holdfast copy straps.
It was locked with two abus steel-o-flex's.
If anyone sees it let me know, so I can try and retrieve it.
thanks Oliver - so upset for my little bro
