  • Actually? Actually?

    Yep :)

  • Anyone seen Martyrs? It's a fiver on play.com but it might just be total sheng.

  • Actually? Actually?

Yes - And not just for CYOA's reason.....

Great cast, director, I'm a fan of the comics and The Bradmeister gave it four stars so yes. Can't wait.

And on the flipside, I'm also looking forward to Resident Evil 4. Mindless trash at the highest quality. Now in 3D.

  • I liked it when that guy stood up to slap Sean and he had a boner

    hahaha, oh yeah.

and when shaun sees the bullies coming he spits in his own chips.

  • Just saw Paranormal Activity, it scared the shit out of me. I don't know how I'm going to sleep.

  • That came on LoveFilm for me today. Might watch it if I ever get home..

  • Don't watch it, send it back.

  • :)

If I didn't send back Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen or ballet drama The Red Shoes, then I'm not sending back Paranormal Activity.

I really should create a list of films I actually want to see..

  • It's a good film, just horrifying.
I'm now going to have to drink to so that I can sleep.

  • THe night after watching that film when I was in bed and just drifting off I remembered the bit where her foot's outside the covers, as mine was at the time. That was really a horrible feeling.

  • Anyone know where I can get hold of this? Can't find a download anywhere...

    YouTube - La Balance (1982)

  • Watch it with your missus.

    Turn the light off.

max the volume as humanely possible.

    make sure it's the evening.

if you get hold of a link, please let me know

  • The Illusionist - beautiful but confusing - I know the production assistant, I'm gonna ask her 'wassit all about like blud, ya get me?' Or sumthin.....

  • I'm gonna ask her 'wassit all about like blud, ya get me?'

Is she like a real life negro person, or something?
Sounds ominous. I fear for you. ...........Don't do it!

  • The Illusionist - beautiful but confusing - I know the production assistant, I'm gonna ask her 'wassit all about like blud, ya get me?' Or sumthin.....

It's essentially a reimagining of mon oncle, by jacques tati. They reference it heavily. I haven;t seen on oncle, it's just the impression i got, i might be wrong

  • The Illusionist - beautiful but confusing - I know the production assistant, I'm gonna ask her 'wassit all about like blud, ya get me?' Or sumthin.....

About as confusing as Die Hard.

    What confused you so?

  • Gutted I missed it at the cinema, love Belle Vue Rondevue (has anyone got my DVD of that?)

Question. Is Paranomal activity scarier than [REC]? If so might have to watch that. Though my girlfriend refuses to watch scary films. It's not as fun when you're watching it with your best mate on the sofa.

Tamara Drew is good btw, beautifully filmed and funny. Though more of a film to watch at home than the cinema.

Oh, Scott Pilgrim was great fun. Not 100% on the casting of Cera, but great Edgar Wright goodness.

Next on the list is Resident Evil 3D.

  • The thing about Paranormal Activity, is that you can actually related to it.

It use the oldest tactic in the book, like the Blair Witch Project, by creating something that you can't see, all you hear is noise and glimpse of movement (like door shutting loudly despite lack of wind), like as if you were a kids who believe that ghosts do exist and every little noise scared you sometime rotten.

it's scarier when you can't see the 'monster' than actually seeing it.

    worth watching.

  • Finally got around to watching Paranormal Activity last night, and not meaning to go against the grain, but....

...what a pile of absolute wank.

Dismal performances, drastically un-scary. What's the point of trying to build up to a scare when you're showing a timelapse and it suddenly stops? "Uh-oh, I think something's about to happen THUD" "Yep, it happened."

Wholly unlikeable characters. And a weak as fuck conclusion.

  • In fairness, traditionally films like that have never really done it for me but I thought with all the talk it might be different this time.

    What a let down.

I had to follow it up with Pan's Labyrinth.

  • Haha, Pan's Labyrinth. What a silly film. People react to it like it's a modern classic. It's toss.

    This is an opinion.

  • It's not a modern classic. It's nothing of the sort.

It's quite entertaining though, which Paranormal Activity consummately failed to be.

  • That is a fact ^ (at least the bit about Paranormal Activity :) )

  • I massively envy you CYOA. Paranormal Activity, just like I thought it would, has fucked me up.
When I went to sleep after I watched it I sweated so much that the bed was still damp the next night. That film left me distraught and terrified.

The Last Exorcism looks like it might be pretty scary as well.
