Similar thing happened to me today.
I was riding on Squirries Street heading north towards Gosset Street, left side of me were full of parked cars and then the cycle road where I was on at that moment.
Suddenly the car door opened right in front of me I crashed, rolled and fell down quite hard middle of the road.
The driver was keep saying sorry and he didn't realize I was coming towards as he was grabbing his bag while opening the door.
Thankfully there were several people passing by and they were being very helpful staying till the ambulance come etc...
I didn't call the police since the driver was admitting and keep saying it was his fault and stayed at the emergency room with me till I get my xrays done and drove me back to my flat.
Well I think I'm ok at the moment except soar muscles and several bruises nothing serious just minor injuries.
Another thing I'm concerned is of course my bicycle. Untrue front wheel and handlebar is fixable so I don't really mind, but now it has quite big dent on the down tube I don't know what to do.
Should I ask him to pay for my frame? I told him to meet me at the bike shop tomorrow to get checked. I have never been in these kind of situation so I'm posting here to hear some advice.
