excuse my ignorance, but surely weight is irrelevant on downhill bikes?

steve peat only has 3 titanium disk brake bolts on his rotors not 6. a tiny weight saving but it all adds up :-)
they all use air forks/shocks now too as heat buildup isn't an issue and a fair chunk of weight is saved.
his bike weighs 37lb
they even strip the paint off the hubs and remove all the seals and grease from the hubs for faster rolling.
