Rear wheel sideways "play"

Yeah I've got the Finish Line Wet Lube as well now, it obviously lasts better in the rain but it picks up dirt like crazy. I use whichever one suits my mood...

As an aside I experienced the sideways play issue on a Phil rear hub recently, which caused me some confusion as these hubs don't have the normal cup / cone setup. Spoke to broken_777 whom I had purchased the hub from and he had this excellent advice to offer:

this is a sympton of not having BOTH lockrings on the hub tight.....the machining on the hub is so precise that when the lockrings are tight the preload on the bearings is 100 accurate...whereas on everyother hub when the lockrings are tight the shell compresses the bearings too much which leads to premature wear....

I tightened the second lockring up and the problem went away. Even Phil Wood didn't seem to know this as they never got back to me on this question...
