I have bought 2 old Omegas for £200 each before. It is possible. One was the Constellation F300 and the other was the Geneve. Of course CoppiThat gets them for a fiver, the jammy sod :-)
If you avoid the "famous" models and just pick a watch you like you're more likely to get it for a low price.
