  • Not that is actually likely, though one person did send me a PM yesterday and threatened me. It was really funny, because he didn't have a clue who he was dealing with. I'm still chuckling about it.

with regard to my beligerance, It was this quote that I took to mean (maybe wrongly, and if that is the case... I will apologise for it, if it wasn't you chuckling about how stupid his remarks were in relation to how hard, large, etc...and was more to do with how you look at life...ie ...he threatend me ...what a dork...thats why you're laughing then I agree what a dork.)..anybody resorting to even the slightest 'I'll kick your head in buster ...watch out'' type of shit...then chuckle away at them being an utter dork...peace and love...though I am tired of this thread too...
Support who you like, though don't be surprised that if you support idiots...then we will associate you with idoits...
It happens to everyone...guilt by association...

  • But if they have ALREADY stopped selling such bikes, then what exactly is the problem? All changes require ay least a little time. Maybe the arguments are moot, if the bike side of that company has ceased? I don't know this, but it seems that no-one has even given this a thought. It's just all attack, attack, attack. Which of course, is strange to me.

Who said there would be a problem if they didn't sell the bikes, most peoples wishes are for them to stop selling the bikes. And changes like that don't take any time at all. Just stop selling the bikes immediately. If anyone offers to buy one then just state they are no longer sold.
Redefining the business model takes longer admittedly...

  • Top thread, would read again, recommended A++++++

  • Support who you like, though don't be surprised that if you support idiots...then we will associate you with idoits...

Don't worry, I thought GA2G was an idiot before this thread.

  • My god, what a waste of breath/space/life........some of you need to get out more,do you actualy ride bikes or ....................oh my head hurts..

  • I think that the brand CaramelCycles may not recover from the damage the (true) accusations have done here.

With that in mind, I think what dancing_james wanted to happen, may happen, or have already happened.

The rest of you, actually wanted CaramelCycles to stop selling bad or dangerous products. But that would not have been enough for others.

To kill a business.........I truly can hardly understand that.

And for that reason, I'm out.

  • And for that reason, I'm out.

What is this? dragon den? have you got a wad so thick it could suffocate a whales?

  • Context Ashe, substitute the word pharmacy for cycle shop and I doubt that you would be quite so magnanimous… The guy is putting together bikes that have the very real possibility of endangering the purchasers well-being, it's not like his selling dodgy t-shirts.

That's why he should stop trading until he gets qualified and I can't rationalise your defence of his right to trade, would you afford the same slack attitude to a self-employed car mechanic that indulged in the same practices [either through stupidity or a desire to make a quick buck]?

I don't buy into your indulgence of his foolishness by using his self-employment as some kind of 'get out of jail free card'. I'm self employed and if I didn't deliver the final product to my client with due care and diligence then I would have ceased trading many years ago

    Repped

  • I am self employed.

I made sure i had years of experience in the field i operate in, before setting up my own company.

If you go into something without the necessary skills, and marketplace knowledge, no matter what or how good your intentions, then if you fail, don't be too surprised, especially when you are selling a product to the public, a product that depends on the quality and care with which it is put together.

No one has destroyed a business here, other than those that set it up without taking the time to gain the knowledge to make it a success.

Luckily for them they can learn from this, get their arses in gear by maybe going on a cytech course, or some other means of getting the knowledge to enable them to run a bike company, and if they do that and put out decent product we will be the first to applaud them.

I also cannot help but feel that the defence you have attempted to put up for them, has done as much to damage their reputation as anything anyone else has posted in this thread, if for no other reason than it has perpetuated and exposed their business practices to be more nieve than we already new.

GA2G, i know you had/have the best of intentions, and unlike some i would never question you getting involved with anything other than the best intentions, as no matter if i disagree with you, i know you are a gent, and would always step in to help someone else rather than for your own benefit.

The simple fact here is that the fault for all this lies with the fact that Caramel Cycles dont know what they are doing, becasue if they did then this thread wouldnt exist in the first place.

  • Bikes are for kids

  • Am i being accused of killing this business off?

All i have done is comment on how shit their products are, and highlighted some of the lies and ineptitude they have displayed. Things no decent bike shop would be doing.

I can imagine the man behind Caramel will be moving on to brain surgery next week.

  • I can imagine the man behind Caramel will be moving on to brain surgery next week.

phew.... that means most of us will be totally safe then huh..?

    Bein brainless an all...

Nice one Mr V. V., very well said sir.

  • I don't understand your post at all. Maybe its the hour, but I'm not sure if you do either.

Who said they would be reviewing Caramel Cycles? Me? Or who?

I said I got a pair of wheels from Caramel, and he asked me to review them. I felt this was vaild, because even though they have become infamously known for negative things, I can only go by my own experience, and that is the company is more about component sales than anything else.

I didn't want to give a reflection of Caramel Cycles. I wanted to review wheels that they sell.

Take them back? Why? Because Dylan said so? Are you serious? I want to review them, but you are telling me to take them back? Okey-dokey......I'll tell you what...How about I pass on your order/instruction, and I just test it, for better or worse. Is that okay, or will you hurt me or something? Oh, since its MY time, is it okay if I chose to waste my own time, or do you wish to tell me what to do and not do with my time? Is that how its getting around here? Thats comical.

Not that is actually likely, though one person did send me a PM yesterday and threatened me. It was really funny, because he didn't have a clue who he was dealing with. I'm still chuckling about it.

And who was the person that said that they would be reviewing Caramel Cycles Ed?
Have you been drinking the same stuff Dylan has, because I fear its a bit too strong.

As far as I know, no-one is reviewing Caramel Cycles. And if a review were done of their business now, I'm sure it wouldn't do well. Though its my feeling that 6 months from now, the same "reviewer" might have a different assessment.

I've never had to put anyone on ignore until now. Fuck knows how your little world turns in your head, because what you say is completely illogical, irrelevant bullshit.

GA2G = I'mrightandeveryoneelseintheworldiswrong (just an attention seeking troll actually who creates lists)

  • I've never had to put anyone on ignore until now.

    It's not worth it! :-)

Don't ignore him - he's a part of the fixed furnishing of this place. Ignore common troll, but not someone you don't agree with.

My only regret is, that Ashe was one of the people who baited Wicksy during the Foffa Gate.

I still can't believe he's the person, from all the blokes and ladettes on here, who is about to sacrifice his online integrity (fuck me, is there a thing as integrity online?) for a set of naff wheels...

been a long time coming mate. he just guffs his self-important stuff oh here most of time, just had enough of it.

  • +1 vinyl villain,
what i find ridiculous is the guy actually said this “ actually didnt think people would read that fluffy intro on my site i'll rewrite it one day “
it seemed incredibly overlooked, i mean that is a straight off amount of shit – “oh im lying but it is ok its just to get hits business etc” , strike 3 before its even strike 1. There is no business online or offline that should operate like this it should be all 100%, why not leave the ipsum lorem .... if thats the case !
Personally, I research anything I am getting into over and over etc to the point of OCD style (buts thats me and I do have that problem) and this forum is an excellent font of knowledge without asking anything . So i fear for some of the questions i have seen here and other sites around the “i have a frame im gonna fix e fi it , oh by the way what do i do about everything “, and then they are gonna ride this thing (contraption they have built) fixed having never ridden fixed before . Sure people are spelling brakes as breaks so they are the breaks.

  • This is no longer about Caramel Cycles.

  • ok, so if they are brilliant or not, it's not a reflection of Caramel cycles at all. So a review of these wheels is null and void.

    What's the point ?

Just take them back, what a waste of time.

    Couldn't agree more!

This is like reviewing Tesco based by testing Ol Del Paso fajitas...

    Doesn't make sense my friend!...

  • I cant believe that i just trawled through 9 pages of this utter bilge - thread set to ignore, im off to ride my bike

  • so did they resolve the shit bike yet?

  • Probably because of his bare faced lies.

Has had over a week to fix it.

  • Didn't Nhatt say she was going to report back on the bike fail? She's away atm however.

  • I have news.
Evidently caramel was true to their word. They took back the customers bike and sorted the problems with it. The guy rang me and said he was away for work, but he'll be back next week and he'll bring the bike in to let me check it over. He also mentioned that the guy at Caramel was very helpful in sorting everything out.
    More later...

  • Still scary that he would send out a bike in that state.

Is he recalling all the other bikes he has worked on?
