Anyone moderately interested in seeing that Shane Meadows/Tom Harper/1986 thing soon to be appearing on C4?
A lack of a tellybox means I haven't seen a trailer but have read a fair bit and am interested enough to watch it on 40D if it appears there.
Reading a summary of his films, specifically 24/7 and Romeo Brass and how he came to make them and why today on the Empire website made me really think: "What the fuck am I doing with my life?"
Bought Lebanon the other day. Piss simple idea, beautifully executed.
Also bough Inglourious Basterds which I saw on release and was a bit non-plussed by but was hugely impressed watching it the second time around.
Each of the chapters/episodes is so well paced, I didn't get bored once even though it's 2 and a half hours of bad accents. Fantastic, self contained shorts all working together to provide an excellent whole.
That said I bet the next time I watch it I'll think it's shit.
