A troll is someone online who's smarter than you and not above pointing it out. It's about uncovering and aggravating an individual's cognitive dissonance. People who spam 'lol faggerts' are just dicks, not trolls. Mainly the accusation of 'trolling' gets flung by people who are losing arguments and/or butthurt about something.

trolling is when you try and get a reaction out of someone, be it by saying something purposely stupid/racist/sexist or whatever.

Its saturday night, i'm not drinking or drunk and was wondering what your definition was? Have seen a few on here being called trolls when to me they seem to be answering things levelled at them.
I would like a discussion, no name calling and if this gets in to a name calling thread I will take my ball sorry thread away.

Totally off topic but why were these popular, I never got it. There was no associated cartoon or anything.

Thats what I always though, but on here I get the opinion that its having a differing opinion to someone else and being willing to answer the person back.

How did trolling even come about? I just find winding someone up through the internet rather boring as sarcasm doesnt really translate through a computer screen.
So many threads from people asking questions (albeit something that can found through a search) seem to get derailed into some farcical mess. does anyone else find trolling tedious?(I am waiting for the people who think they are funny because they are being ironic, to call me a troll)
