It's totally possible to do this, I just worked out how. You need an old spanner, a rusty nail and an opera hat. You squeeze your opera hat dowm the steerer tube, bang it with the old spanner and gently poke your eyes out with the rusty nail. Easyer said than done I know but not impossible.
