Nope, NZer who lived in Melbs for 4 years. NRL and beaches are the only things better about Sydney.

The AFL is certainly run way more professionally (with shitloads more $$$), and the NRL is a pathetic bag of chumps with News Ltd calling the shots and terrible national TV coverage. I can't defend the way the sport is run, but would be surprised if there are enough Melburnians in Western Sydney to keep a AFL team running. Attendances for the Swans are terrible too.
I think it's harsh they don't put a team in Tassie or up in Darwin, they are way hardcore about AFL but it seems the AFL are only interested in trying to displace league.
