Will I'm honestly really shocked by this one, how it keeps on going. Honestly i think it's a remnant of some weird witchhunt mentality from the middle ages.
Reckon you've had some good advice already ... that they'll get heavy in the rain - but you could always tie up in wrap or hat to keep them from getting waterlogged, and out of the way of bags if you carry stuff on your back.
You really want to wear a helmet? I like the sound of threading them out of the holes! I love locks on any person. Glad to hear you're ignoring the twats.
