  • It's not a tourer actually, far from it, it's a randonneur bicycle, it's basically a long distance non-competitive events (something like 300-1200km), so there's little/no need for a proper rear rack loaded to the ninth.

    the front end allow the cyclist to reach his bag while riding, as well as being able to read the map, a saddle bag may be a better idea but it's cumbersome when trying to grab a sandwich while keeping the bike in control.

    Also the rack is attached to the top half of the fork so this wouldn't compromise the handling of the bike as much as one that's attached to the fork-end (that tend to stiffen the fork making it less comfortable to ride).
