    Thank you Kam

Well.. most of the time this:

A lot of the time this:

    And soon this..

(None for sale despite thread title)

  • ooh that De Rosa is gorgeous - congrats :-)

  • As is the Bilenky. If and when I buy somewhere with the necessary storage and access, I'm having a cargo bike like a shot.

  • still a bit sad i sold this, but it didnt fit, and really didn't fit in with any kind of riding i did.

  • :(

    :(

    :(

  • not one sad face, but three Ed.

how fucking could you. that creamy bob was ace...

  • that is a very sweet thread, unlike other ones i visit here
so many really nice bikes! those LOOKs are awesome, not to mention miraclous yellow lo-pro Eddy Merckx, which i think by far is the nicest EM frame i've ever seen
does anyone know who owns it at the mo?

  • I bought a red Certini for £300, it had Campag Athena very little milage, Open pros.it was too small for me.
Sold the frame and forks for £300, put the gruppo on my Blue Coppi, plus wheels.
Sold the blue bike wheels for £120, sold components off Blue bike
So Blue bike now totally Italian
Made cash and now have an even better bike.
Once sold a pink Muddy Fox aluminium pro because I couldnt be fucked to service it,
    still regret that..

  • Just to see if there is any interest in vintage machines!

Ah nice! I have a 1952 Ernie Clements - Caladoc

It's still got the original paintwork but it is looking very tired. Hoping one day to get the frame restored - until then I'm riding it and although it doesn't look the part it still rides like the beat that it is!

  • WOW, that Eddy Merckx looks fantastic. Theres an Eddy just down the road from me layed in the back of someones garage, might have to make them an offer !

  • Yay, my spoke card. (track day 2)

  • The sale thread got over 7000 views but I eventually sold one of my 2 frames.

  • Be nice to see some pics: )
Not much interest in vintage (as I would call 40s/50s), but many, many more of all my various machines here on my Flickr pages:

Me now Olik on here, lost my P/W to Viscount: (

  • My first bike in London. Not very sexy, way too big for me, but practical, saved me a load in transport, and helped me to work out what I wanted from bikes.

Then there was my first build. '74 Carlton Continental which I bought for £5.
    Before:

    During:

    After:

It taught me a lot... the three most important of which are; i) don't use cottered cranks; ii) buy the correct size; iii) don't spend good money respraying bad frames.

I sold it because I realized it didn't fit, I needed the money and this Mercian came along:

My first wheel build, and my first track frame. It was just a bit too big, and I'd just managed to get a bargain Condor Pista... so off it went. It had some really interesting little details on it...

Old beaten up Dawes pub bike

I was trying to operate a strict 3 bike max policy (1 road, 1 nice fixed, 1 beater) so I sold it. Despite the weight of the frame, and all it's faults, it has to be by far one of my favorite bikes ever. It's just a shame I never took a photo of it in it's final guise with 28c panaracers, mudgaurds and a carridice saddle bag.

    Planet X Uncle John.

Absolutely brilliant bike. Being cripillingly broke and the size being a bit too big forced the sale. Once I'm a bit more flush I'll probably get another.

  • heh, here are some o mine...

  • Time for a bump I think

    My first fixie skidder

Some awful SS conversion that i sold on ebay for silly money

(bought for me, but was too small so converted to SS for a friend

My visp, which was actually great fun

Bought this for a project that never happened, it sat in my shed for over a year then sold it for what i bought it for

Used once before I sold it

I hated to sell this, but i was too small. It was such a lovely bike

I loved this bike too, so great to ride, but i just didn't use it enough.

    Just sold this today

  • After my current cull:

This one's on Tenerife now (wheels with Xander)

  • ^No, you sold the Simoncini?! That's somethin' you should hold on to for your whole life.. Such a great frame (and build, ignoring the Zipp)..

  • Tax people knocked.

  • 14-speed, Shimano 600-eqipped Swinnerton. Now owned by NurseHaliday

    http://www.lfgss.com/picture.php?albumid=1409&pictureid=8350

  • I needed the money, and my wrist can't really handle dirt jumping. I haven't replaced it, though i might buy a XC bike next year

  • what did you get for the pinnacle Jack?
