Interesting. I'm a little dubious about this with the Rapha stowaway. Thinking of investing.
the stowaway is good because it works well in various conditions. i.e. it's going to keep you dryer for longer than you think in the rain and you can keep it on for longer than you expect when the sun comes out as it doesn't overheat.
the gore N2S softshells have this same quality in that they resist most of the rain but are still breathable enough.
i find having a merino baselayer makes a big difference, they may feel damp but they feel warm at the same time unlike synthetics.
i too have an event endura jacket but only use it for short commutes when it's a torrential downpour or it's so cold that overheating isn't going to happen. in fact i'm more likely to use my RAB e-vent walking jacket and pull the hood over my lid
