  • one right here, oy vaaaay.
been discussing the possibility of a yarmulke cycling cap for ages at synagogue.

    Any jewish fixie skidders here?

    well, minus the fixie-skidding part.

  • Well, that worked out really well. Only took them 4 weeks, rather than the advertised 6-8, and the jerseys look really good, almost professional, and all paid for by the company (to be fair they get good advertising for very little money)

I can certainly recommend champ-sys if anyone is looking to get jerseys made.

Hey we work in the same building! If you tell me it's you who got the independent fabrication mtb I'm gonna get well jealous

No, I ride a langster monaco.

  • One of my mates sent the following email to several mutual friends this morning;[QUOTE]Morning All,

I have to inform you all as Tom's friends it is our duty to prevent him wearing his LFGSS (London fixed gear and single speed) hat. The reason being it makes him look like a twat. This was the case before I even knew what LFGSS stood for.

If you've not seen it is a cross between a flat cap and baseball cap. When you have seen it you'll understand this e-mail

Apparently never having seen cycling caps fail.

  • dam, my elastic just went, what is the easiest solution?

  • My elastic went last week!

  • dam, my elastic just went, what is the easiest solution?

    Shrink your head.

Hot wash/Synthetics setting should do it.

  • Here's how to fix the elastic. It's quite easy to do by hand - just need a needle, thread and a sharp pair of scissors.

The elastic feeds through the band round the back of the cap - you should be able to see where it is (or was) sewn in at each end.

You'll probably find that it is still secured at one side, if you sew over that end again it should make it more secure. The other end is a bit more fiddly. You'll need to undo some of the stitching of the band (the stitching that is away from the edge of the cap) so that you can feed the elastic through so you can make it gather up again. Once you get the free end of the elastic to where it should be, then stitch the end of the elastic to the hat. Then stretch the elastic and the hat so the elastic slips into the band where it should be, and while it is taut, stitch the band back down again - don't sew the elastic at this point, the elastic should be free within the band, just fixed at either end.

  • Tempers behaviour

  • that's a relief, I guessed you'd be too busy fulfilling the orders from people who ordered bags from you 18 months ago to be leaving snide remarks about products that people actually got off their arses and got designed and manufactured…

  • Considering that you guys designed and got these caps manufactured, and are now selling them as a business venture...you really need to get used to accepting criticism, just like i have to.

If you have a problem with the way i run my business then go ahead and tell me on my thread...there is no censorship on this forum remember.

Unless of course it's to do with a criticism of these caps obviously.

  • Caps are being worn, broken caps are being fixed. They are being 'spotted', and enjoyed by many.
Some folk are even keenly repairing them themselves, having not picked up a needle and thread in a long while.

I think that the positives outweigh the negative. Shout all you like.

  • Who's shouting?
There is obviously a problem with the quality so why don't they just get sent back?
The fact that they're having a factory holiday shouldn't mean that people are having to fix their own hats?

If my bags all started falling to bits i wouldn't tell people to stitch them back together themselves.

Regardless of how personally certain people are taking it, i still find this whole situation rather ludicrous.
If Rapha sold forum members a load of new jerseys and they started coming undone at the seams and then told people to sew them back together people would surely find that pretty ludicrous too.

I just don't see why it's different just because forum members had something to do with the design and ordering process.

It's not censorship to think you're being a miserable curmudgeon, but it is tiresome to all that read your posts.

  • I find it amusing, that's the opposite of being miserable.
Besides, as you always tell people...if you don't like somebodies posts, put them on ignore.

  • Quality control is obviously shit for this first batch (I'm keeping my fingers crossed about mine).

I agree the manufacturers should be contacted, and told to repeat the batch FOC, or at least provide 20% of the numbers again as replacements/potential replacements.

Scott's got a fair point, even though it's slightly obscured by smug indignation.
