Picked this up in France at the weekend. Its a Tigra Professional, from the late seventies. Tigra were a high end Swiss manufacturer of race bikes, having there own TDF Team back in their heyday - alas now from what little history i can find the name is owned by Trek, and put on generic hybrids for the german market these days.
Its built from Durifort (Predecessor to Vitus) double butted tubing, and has beautiful lug work and touches. They guy i got it off was about 85, and had been using it for TTing up until last year when he had a knee op, and had taken great care of it - has a full Arabesque group set, except for the crankset, and he upgraded the wheelset to 105 hubs and Mavic MA2 Rims at some time.
I have taken off the drops and put some risers on, and will be using it for rides with the Mrs, but will probably put them back on when i source an Arabesque crankset. Then again i will prob end up selling it as i dont have room for another bike!
On a side note the Criterium 2000 saddle is one of the comfiest i have sat on, which was a bonus as i expected it to be a pain in the ass.
