Buying/Renting property in London: Where would you live?

I'd agree with Andy, zone 2 S.E London is changing a lot and improving.

So as to convince me, how about suggesting a couple of spots I could check out? I'm not expecting major sightseeing, just cycling there, sit down for a coffee or pint somewhere, think to myself "oh lovely" then move on to the next little high street, square, park etc.
