Haha, well, the stop at red lights bit is correct.
Meet at inner circle gate, opposite York Bridge, 6:30ish. Start going round and round. Stop when 20 miles are done.
Seeing as it looks nice and sunny out there, and this is the last Thursday I can do for a while, I'm contemplating putting the novelty wheels on, but there's light rain forecast for later so hmmmm. -

I've given back the Cervelo so for the first time in more than a month the 90's Italian steel has seen light of day.
A nice 22mph lap on the way in to work (in skinny jeans and a forum t-shirt) would suggest it still works.
Lycra later.......

Yeah I think the wind must have been blowing the right way this morning because despite not feeling too with it today I had a rather nippy ride in. Will have to see if the legs last 'til evening.
As mentioned above, this will be my last one for a few weeks (at least on a Thursday), so it may well be a special power rangers turbo evening.

'Special' as in 'no unfair watt-saving tri-bar advantage for any of the participants'?

They're only on the bike for aesthetics, honest guvnor. The handlebars look too wide without them.

Room for a small one... just moved to the area, sounds good

Come along.
The beauty of this ride is that if it is too slow or too fast you can go at your own pace, and you will be back with the group in a few minutes by lapping or being lapped.

Congratulations to first-time Power Ranger sasmon, and apologies for the pain to LndBoy.
22 miles, 22.5mph average, I don't think I'm ever going to get near to my 25mph dream :(
Note to self: remember lights so I can go to the pub afterwards instead of rushing home before the sun sets. -

25 would be tough.
I might do a couple of laps in the morning. See what time I wake up.

Only just caught up with this thread again (been mincing about on boats in the meantime).
No more HoP for a while Tom? Or potential to move to another evening? I'm going to miss my weekly trip to the pain cave if so. I don't go really fast unless lots of other people are and I have to

Well, I can't do this Thursday (26/8), there's a possibility of a final one in the current format for the Thursday after (2/9), 9/9 is definitely off for me and after that it's all up in the air. I was thinking of running the Hour tomorrow night, but the weather has quite different ideas and you've already had you fill for being on the water this month.
Come the week of the 13th and onwards, dying light and a change of work commitments means the hour may well be re-arranged to a morning session, half 7 to half 8 or something horrible like that. -

6:25! are you mad?! I'm all for suffering, but...
(Will keep it in mind, thanks)

I'm glad it's not on this thurs as I'm riding to the New Forest friday / saturday and know I'd ride like a tool in regents park and regret it all the way south. Plus have re-geared the mercian pretty low for the weekend and don't think I could match damo's spin skills in keeping up...
In for the 2nd if it happens then.

upstart: spin skillz you haz them. you just don't know about it yet.

Riding to the New Forest eh? I'm supposed to be in Poole for the bank holiday weekend and was toying with the idea of riding down there (again).

Tonight's hour of power is replaced with an evening of drinking, at some Central/South London locale that I'm yet to choose, to celebrate unemployment and a possibly ludicrously successful insurance claim. All welcome, will update with a pub when I find one.
Now in the Roebuck.

Shame. My Thursday hours of power/pain are usually spent behind a motorbike at the tarck, but I think the weather has other plans. I was going to join in, but too late it seems!

Will be making one happen next week, and looks like the weather will be playing along too.
