I once had a client call my boss to say I had knocked paint down their hall as I left, demanded he came too see the evidence and pay for repairs. Only the matt emulsion I was using had run out and the paint down the stairs was silk of a different shade. Needless to say when we pointed out their mistake and had obviously thrown the paint themselves with amused grins on our faces, the two clients became strangely confused and claimed there must have been a break in, they kept up the pretence until the end of the job.
