I've never been to Ducasse, but A A Gill had a few choice words for it - 'Ducasse is the most Michelin-starred of any chef ever. If he ate all of his stars, he’d crap meteorites. 'The dining room has multiple girls who hand you from one to another, as if you were fragile, or a cretin'. 'It’s clever and fiddly, the food, as tepid as a royal handshake and as utterly forgettable as dabs of diplomatic small talk'. 'It doesn’t matter how rich you are, this place would deafen you with the tearing sound of being ripped off'. Naturally, 3 Michelin stars. I don't think I've read a single good review of it.

I went to Galvin La Chapelle on friday night. The place itself is lovely to look at, but the food is awesome... Crab lasagne with morel sauce was too good, and surprisingly the wine list isn't mentally expensive although you can buy a bottle for £17,500...! Service was also the right side of attentive without really noticing they were there.

Not very glamarous in the scheme of things, but work are paying for lunch at Pearl (Jun Tanaka) this week. Looking forward to it.
I took my folks there when they were over. 3 course meal for £45 (I think) if you book on toptable. It was lovely. Pallet cleansing tidbits between set courses, amazingly presented colourful fresh food, good portions and super tasty. Would defs go back.

Kattiep. Your a lovely gal. But this is the POSH food thread.. £45 for a 3 course meal is good value I grant but this thread is all about spending mind bending amounts of money on food. £45 wouldn't buy a glass of Rose Bollinger at Ducasse. x

So far I'm going to for lunch in the Hinds Head in Bray on the way down and I'm booked in for dinner at Nathan Outlaw in rock a few days later

Gidleigh Park is the canonical Dartmoor restaurant of quality.
I'm also fond of Langmans (disclaimer: my folks live down the road).
Also worth a look in are the Nobody Inn and the Bridge in Topsham. Both excellent, but very different pubs.

BEST pub EVER!!!!!!He's right. It's the only place I've ever had a ploughman's that been any good. Their home-made elderflower chutney was amazing.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good fish restaurant in London? I'm looking to treat Andrea for her birthday and she's partial to fish. It'll be for lunch on a Wednesday and we'd need them to be tolerant of a baby.
I was thinking of either Livebait on The Cut or Fish! at Borough Market but have only tried the latter.
