  • I moved into a new flat. It has windows, unlike my old one. Hello, dawn.

  • I'm an awesome sleeper, but I just don't get enough of it.
I'm not one of these people who can get by on a couple of hours, although I have done in the past.
When my little lad was born I went for about eighteen months on two - three hours a night while working 12 hour shifts.
    It honestly nearly killed me.
    I almost lost my mind.

You insomniacs have my sympathy - it must be fucking dreadful.
Sleep is right up there with hand-pulled beer, pork scratchings and blow jobs.

  • I'd take pork scratchings over a snooze any day of the week.

  • I was at a farmer's market over the weekend, and an awesome pie stall was selling home made pork scratchings for about two quid for a bag the size of pillow case.

He also did pork and black pudding pies, pork and caramelized onion pies and pork with sweet chilli pies.
    Awesome.

  • General Lucifer's Delivery Deli up and running yet?

Make a bargain at farmers markets, cycle around the country selling them to mugs like me at a profit?

  • had a really hard few days - one year old teething and me and becca my wife trying to do too much. add a crap day of work and a day of bickering over nothing other than being really knackered and I though a good nights sleep would help no end. went to bed at 10.30, fell asleep at 1.30.

Not the worst insomnia I've had but seriously, I could hardly keep my eyes open before i went to bed. then get in the covers, becca snoozing and ping, mind completely awake. It's soooooo frustrating.

The worst sleep I've had recently was at a conference in tromso in norway, 24 hrs of sun really fucks things up. becca was quite annoyed when i came back more knackered than i went away.

    Sorry rant over.

Oh and just spotted the have a wank tag, usually great advice but when it's 4.30 and you've just finished your 3rd one it gets you down a bit.

Oh and does anyone know the m. ward song called wide awake in washington or something, really sums up imsomnia.

  • ah here it is

It's funny, but people just don't seem to fancy any meat product I produce.

    Don't know why.

I get all my meat free-range from Hugs and Flint.

    Arse.

  • Abit early for me to post in this thread, but managed to sort out my sleeping between 8am to 4pm by pulling an all nighter, and holding out until past 9pm the next day.

    Night folks.

  • You sleep ok?

  • Erm, I did thank you.

  • welcome

  • This forum still amazes me to the diversity of its threads, to think i was excited at the trainer thread...

2 nights ago didn't sleep, last night got a couple of hours, and just took extra strength sleeping pills x2 and waiting. hopefully this night will be more eventfull.

i'd be interested to know if anyone else finds it hard to turn their brain off.

    Every single day.

    Yes...

    Often...

The last maybe 6 nights I have watched the sun come up...and as a result missed stuff..ie Muswell hill jumble..

Had a binge on thursday night and then my sleep pattern was fucked all over, so have spent the last three awake...

Balki is sometimes in here too...

if it get to be too much ,..ie you haven't slept for days...then get some vanilla, it really does work.

    sleep well.

Really? Vanilla as in vanilla pods, the pure stuff?.. what do you do with it? you chew it?

  • I work a mixture of night shifts and days... typically 4 nights 7-7, 4 off, 4 days 7-7, 4 off etc.

Been doing more nights recently. Is so hard to get back into any sort of pattern, and I'm terrible at getting to sleep anyway. I seem to never get that deep restful sleep anymore, not for the past few years, always tossing and turning.

Anyone know of something that can help with this? Also, my dreams are often extremely vivid, feels like they may be interfering with my sleep too. I think it started with a serious motor accident when I was 17.

  • Work! Lucky you.

I probably have the opposite of this thread. My body, no matter how long I forced myself to go to sleep at 11/12pm, still refuses to get itself into any sort of sleep pattern. It's quite strange for me not to be awake at this time of day. When I do finally go to sleep I will happily sleep for 15-18hrs without waking up. I'm quite a deep sleeper so slight disruptions - curtains being opened, the cat walking on me etc... don't disturb my sleep at all.

I have been known a few times to be what must be some sort of sleep walking. I wake up, talk to my mother have a full discussion then go to sleep again to have no memory of it when I wake the second time.

I'm not going to try sleeping pills as I was addicted to caffine drinks a couple of years ago and still have to watch myself.

  • 4.30 and all is wellll......

  • seeing as your online...

    Vanilla what? essence? pods?
