I can't believe you'd tell people to stop eating bananas. What kind of pill freak fest would you have people live on? Nhatt's not an obese medical case.
That study IS NOT in the unproven claims section. The ability of green tea to help people burn fat is one of the PROVEN facts, backed up by several studies. I linked the Birmingham University one because we all know that is a real & reputable university (my local!) and the study is recent too.
There are other fanciful claims sure, but this is well known to have substance.
I have not actually seen Nhatt, but dont expect her to be fat at all based on her weight/height/activity. But if she is keen to get rid of a belly (which is probably healthy and looks fine) calorie restriction is a method that will work. I prefer people to gain weight to improve body composition and "shape" than lose it. But to get the popular "skinny" look she (and most people sadly) want, losing weight through a calorie deficit is in order.
There are no essential carbohydrates. There are however essential amino acids & essential fatty acids. A vegetarians diet is always going to be rich in carbohydrates and is typically low in the latter, but if we want to drop the calories so low as to get rid of bodyfat. Removing massive lumps of carbs which do not contain enough of our previously mentioned, useful components or fibre is what we need to do. A banana contains way too many carbs to be "worth it".
Taking a vitamin & mineral tablet while on a very restricted diet is not a ridiculous thing to do.
