I suppose this one could cover various staples, as long as rice remains the primary theme.

The Spanish bar on The Cut in Southwark, Meson Don Felipe, does takeaway paella during the daytime for a reasonable fee. It's tasty and good value. I buy it for my lunch roughly once a week.
Yesterday there was some "Waterloo Quarter" (ick) Spanish / Latin American food festival thing further up The Cut opposite the Old Vic. Meson Don Felipe had a stall there but they were shifting so much paella that they weren't cooking the rice properly and it was all gritty and got stuck in my teeth. Disappointed.

I'm quite into red rice at the moment. It texture is almost that of brown rice and it takes as long to cook. Great flavor though.

Just came here to post that Uncle Ben is a seriously bad rice trader. I had some of his microwaved tomato and basil stuff yesterday. 1/10, would not eat again.
