Not necesarilly. You run 42x16, why not just try n get a 14 for the back? Will be a damn sight stiffer, and a damn sight less spinny! + you can save some serious denero by not getting another chainwheel... I got an Andel sprocket off ebay for £12. Exactly the same as the Surly ones, just a different name on em. Big names = £££££££££££££££
