Talking of which, the Awesome Sam was there last night, and when McCarthy turned up after closing, and therefore could not buy a beer he gave him a free one. If only he was still there on wednesdays.
However, Sam told me that he has taken over the Approach on Approach Rd, which I've always found to be a great pub, with loads of railings to lock bike to, a big outdoor area, covered and heated.

Where are the East drinks held now? I thought the North ones would be easier for me (I live in Cheshunt, just north of Enfield) but, with hindsight, Hackney is possibly better. I'd love to get involved with the drinks/rides. In Cheshunt people tend to just eat boogers & beat each other up after closing.

First Wednesday of the month and I'm going to Trafalgar Square to ride Easts. Am I going to have to ride around looking for a bunch of lost souls looking for a place to settle, or is it still at the stench that is called; rather grandly in my view, The Royal Inn on the Park

Right, as an experiment, cos no objections have been raised, EASTS IS MOVING!
This week it will be at The Approach.
Sam, who was the landlord at the Royal Inn when it was good, is running this place now.

I've always preferred the Royal Inn to the Approach, but I haven't been to the Approach for a while, so let's see if it's got better.
