Well, but should fun be a primary factor, is it an activity or a sport? It may well be demotivating to be 5 goals down and know you still have ages to play, but with limited scoring you have the situation where a 5-0 win in 2 minutes is the same as a 5-0 win in 15 minutes. I struggle to think of another goal based sport where you limit by goals not time.
