don't worry I hate hills as well and am rubbish at them.
We''ll go as fast as the slowest person and all stay together. -

80's themed ride?
This?
-
• #517
I did a pootle up the Thames with Aroogah a few weekends ago: Richmond to Windsor ... largely along the cycle route, was a really nice ride. Went through Virginia Water to get the best approach to Windsor Gt Park. We rode fixed, I only needed to walk ~200yds on one climb. Was about 35-40 miles I think. Some ideal pub breaks and the views made the cimbs well worth it (up through Richmond, for a view and a fab ride downhill through Richmond Park, and then later for views from Windsor Gt Park).
If there is interest I can set out a route for us? It has to be '80s themed though!

i've been banging on about a windsor ride for ages!! i really want to do one as ive never been there. im in, and i dont mind helping with the reccying too if you need it.
-
• #519
Me in (depending on date). Still geared, I'm afraid.
-
• #520
Oooh Windsor! If we made it in time I could see my friend and her offspring which would be nice.
Cafewanda - gears for the WIN! I've nearly finished building up the Colnago (For "I" read "Edmundro") which also has gears and I'm going to ride it with pride!

-
• #522
oh of course! as long as I'm not in house moving hell, I'm pretty much up for any long ride once I get the surly fixed.
-
• #523
Oh no, the Surly is broken?
-
• #524
Charlotte I'm sure Edmundro appreciates being your assistant :-)
-
• #525
I think he'd take umbrage at the idea of being my assistant! I loitered while he did stuff expertly. But I do at least now know how everything connects together and reckon I can do an OK job when it comes to changing the handlebars and stems and keeping the brakes working ;)
I owe him all the beer. Again.
The date works for me - will take the day off school no hesitation.
However, the word 'hills' has filled me with fear. There is no way I can effectively verbalise my dislike of hills... I can do them slowly right?!
