The Pashley is sold for £800 still using the same old design from the 50's, I'd says that's a rip off.
It has nothing to do with the old design. More to do with the limited appeal, smaller numbers produced, specific components etc,.
Most bikes are using a pretty old design you know, just a case of putting some steel tubes together at the correct angles!
