Nonsense.
They're blue because they stand out, and different from other separated road markings (e.g. red bus lanes - unless you think the red lanes are sponsored by Coca Cola).

Its just a colour on the road. Deal with it.
In fact if you are only bitching about the colour scheme of a network of cycle lanes in the city, I would consider that progress - at least the cycle lanes are actually there.

What brand of bicycle do you ride?

What is wrong with the green we already have for bike lanes? It matches the colours of our city. Why have TWO colours for bike lanes?

OK so you don't mind corporations branding every area of public life. Maybe you work in advertising, or you just don't care.
