sorry gang, bit of a question here, i've got a customer coming in tomorrow that has one of those really cheap bmx freewheels threaded onto her hub, its the kind of freewheel that doesn't have regular notches, rather, just two little holes, i need to get this off for her, anyone got any info on how to do this? scoble?

There's a destructive method :
Unscrew the part with the two holes, take it all apart and stick the last part, the one that is screwed onto the hub, into a vice, turn the wheel around, and you're done.
This will destroy the freewheel, however. -

you need the specific tool, a pin spanner or something.
I never had the tool so I just jammed up the freewheel using an old screwdriver in between out and inner casing and then used a chainwhip.
Not recommended on a customers bike though!

If she doesn't want to keep it, you might as well !

i've got the park tool pin spanners in the workshop so i'll do the park tools "destructive" method on it, she needs it off to replace the freewheel anyway as it's worn, cheers all

just do it out the back somewhere as it may not look too professional :-)

I thought that Griffin was absolutely spot on as it was. Sorry man, this ain't working for me at all.
It did look like a totally different bike with the gears... is it just the chain that's spoiling the party?

re: bianchi
Thanks for all the kind words, I am really chuffed with it I have to say.
It wasn't all down to patience, I bought it as a fixed-gear conversion, and I'd been riding it like that for the last year or so. Started collecting the bits and pieces to do it up over the past few months, and when I had them all I took the frame to be sprayed.
Secretly though I was delaying a bit because I liked looking at it when it was all shiny too much. I've had it out on a maiden voyage in the Chilterns, one of those Evans rides in Herfordshire last weekend and really enjoying it.
This is my second full "project" and I'm getting a bit worried it's becoming an addiction. I feel so empty inside when I haven't got a project on the go! ;) Have a lovely Carlton Flyer track bike I'd like to get started on, but trying to hold off until the winter for the sake of my bank balance!
