*It's a brilliant film and the expression on his face at the end is an amazing piece of acting. *
You are most correct.

Personally I think the best quote from TLGF is
"I've heard of sleeping partners, but you're in a fucking coma!"

Just watched 500 days of summer, lets just say that Zooe Deschanel was the only thing that kept me interested

Predators - Utterly predictable tosh, but still enjoyable 'cos Predators are cool.
The White Ribbon - thought-provoking German Palmes D'or winner from 2009. Fecking excellent if slightly disturbing film.

Whilst she is lovely, her character in this film made me want to kick her obtuse cunt in

that last one looks a bit racy.... good taste there.
read a review in he Indescribably boring of Inception, said it was too much, too non stop, force fed spectacular gimmickry, reviewers eh? -

depends what you're into. it was on bbc4 last night. it's about a 15 year old intersex person... "with a pee pee and a foo foo" as someone on here (balki?) once rather succinctly put it.
inception really doesn't appeal from what i've seen so far. got nuts in may lined up for tonight.

I just watched Gran Torino.
Unbelievable.
I've just watched this base on ginger's opinion.
loved it, not very well executed but overall it's a lovely film to watch and quite touching at time.
People says that the main character is a racist, but the more I watch it, the more it drawn to me that he's simply a misunderstood person.
worth watching.

Excellent film, despite the really poor acting by the Vietnamese boy.

Watched "The Cove" on TV last night which I thought it was very well made. Quite calm and measured in tone but still very upsetting. I had reservations in places about some of the more hippy-ish protagonists, but most time I found that I had a question as to their motives, they answered it. For example, in the film the narator spent some time talking about the intelligence level of dolphins seeming to be citing their extreme intelligence as an argument as to why they should be the subject of this special treatment over say, tuna which are regularly hunted in the same way as the dolphins in the film.
That got me thinking that (despite my emotional reaction to the contrary) appying intelligence as a criteria for ecology was a very slippery slope and one that i wasn't really comfortable with. Just then, the narator explained that (his own personal view was) dolphins were of a level of intelligence where they had clearly shown that they used complex language to comunicate and that they were self-aware and could experience emotions and empathy... which made the trapping and wholesale slaughter all the more horrific. Shocking stuff that will stay with me for quite a long time. I'm off to goofle "IWC" to see what I can do to help things along a wee bit.
Also , been trying to find a torrent of "End of the Line" (the fish based eco-documentary) for ages so was glad to see they're showing that next Tuesday on More4 too. Shall be tuna-ing in for that one no doubt.

Saw it last night, thought it was a good film, didn't get bored and was interested to see how it would pan out and the time went quickly. Enjoyed the ending as well.
Amused me that loads of people were having the same conversation as they left the cinema

I thought inception started well, then just got a bit ridiculous in the last 3rd. Especially the cliched deus ex machina twists.
I liked it, I didn't like the dark knight, but I liked inception, although it went a bit dark knight towards the end.
I liked that it just used the dream linking as a plot device and didn't philosophise too much about how mental dreams are and whether we're all dreaming, but then it sort of did and that annoyed me, but only arbitrarily so. It's obviously great to watch but ultimately, for all the special effects and that, it's sort of forgettable. Memento is his best film i reckon.

I enjoyed Inception, though it is not really in the same league as some fo Nolan's other work.
XXY was good but not as good as Dogtooth which was worse than Lebanon but equal to I am Love.
Is anyone into Horror/Sci-fi B-movies?

I didn't like the Dark Knight at all - was tedious and nasty

that would be a far more mature way of saying it, youre right, I was on here waaaaay too much yesterday. as you were.
Cool. Though you should meet the barman in my parents local. I mention I love going to the cinema, and try and go once a week. He replied "yeah, me too. I love films."
"Yeah? What's your favourite film? Or one of your favourites?"
"Anything with Steven Seagal. I've got all his films on DVD"
facepalm
On a side note, saw Heartbreaker last week. Great little romantic comedy with Romain Duris and Vanessa Paradis. And cause it's not made by Hollywood it doesn't make you want to vomit. Also look out for the cyclist cameo at the end.

Was there any need for it to be in 3D.

Saw Predators yesterday. Great B-movie action.
Utter cack. Adrien Brody appears to have taken the same "husky voice pills" that Christian Bale has necked by the skipload for all of his films.
