• After leaving later than we were going to at about 8:55 Bendix and I arrived at Dunwich at 5:3O...after somehow taking a couple of wrong turns and finding our way back on route.
We then rode the 3O miles to Ipswitch to get the train...very slowly.

For some reason I decided i didn't want to sit behind the crowds who had left earlier and so I set a stupid pace, catching people at Epping who had left a good 4O minutes before us.
We then proceeded to pass a LOT of people for the next 3O miles until i realised i had almost destroyed my legs and began to cramp. Setting a fast pace on fixed while riding with someone on gears/freewheel wasn't my best idea as the downhills are hard on the muscles.

We had to stop a few minutes for me to stretch my legs out properly.
The cramping kept coming and going for the whole ride then but i tried my best to ride through it.

After the fast first 4O miles we had a pretty slow mid section thanks to me. Bendix would have finished much faster had she not been riding with me. My lack of miles and a lot of personal stress these past few busy months really showed. I was struggling both mentally and physically.
For personal reasons i knew this was going to be a hard ride for me mentally this year and i wasn't wrong.
This will be my last Dynamo...it became a special ride to me and it just won't be the same for me anymore.

Well done to ALL who completed it.
