Your opinion on this matter conflicts with the actual data.
By the nature of the journeys diesel bus (don't know about the hydrogen ones) and taxi engine are used in stop start driving conditions for many hours a day. Hence produce more than a car say running for its two hour commute.
Also engines are at their most efficient at constant revs and with movement (so energy converted to motion and not lost with the vehicle sitting still.
Edit- This seems so wrong to me agreeing to this, but can't see the point of commuting in a car, think the bike is better and you get excercise instead of driving to the gym.
