  • i heard women prefer a bit of a curve - evidenced at last!

A gentle curve, not a sharp kink
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peyronie's_disease (slightly NSFW)

  • @ Scorch - No? How come? Just the look?

  • the feel i would say... :(( sorry

  • i have hollow axle cranks on all of my MTBs, mind, but these just don't cut it

  • Think i'd prefer the orange one with black tyres and maybe contacts too.

Don't mind the cranks - it's the way technology is heading. Although the Saints on my P3 dirt bike (faced and fitted by stif) have done nothing but creak, whereas the centaur bb on my fixed is silent, makes me question whether they are really any better. could be the nature of riding it gets used for though.

That red and white colnago is well dreamy... (white tape)

can't get on to that particular wiki page from my work network tester, guessing its saving me from some grimness!

  • makes me question whether they are really any better

You can definitely feel the extra stiffness of UltraTorque over square taper. Whether you actually need it is another matter, given that 2kW sprinters are still using square taper at Olympic/World Champs level.

Oh yeah they are tonnes stiffer - just meant in terms of annoying creaking. supposedly bearing life aint great either bu this is just what i heard.

  • I love my UT crankset.

best thing about it? they're brilliantly light.

  • Difference between bent and curved, innit? I've got an old Orange CroMo post that's curved like that Moots, and it looks fine. Thomsons just look like they got bent in a crash.

    now we can agree.

Depends what you compare it with. External BBs are the solution to the short bearing life problem with first generation oversized axles (Octalink/ISIS), and the bearing size now in use should be at least as long-lived as the cartridge bearings in typical square taper BBs

The unintended benefit of UltraTorque which I like is that I can keep different crank/chainring/pedal set ups for TT and track and swap them over with just one tool.

  • A different stem, then pretty close.

I've seen worse stems - and the rest of it is beautiful.

You have scarred me for life.

  • What a lovely looking chain ring.

he didn't sit on it did he?

  • It's fine in the fore/aft and up/down alignment, but I think it might be the wrong way around in the left/right sense.

  • Lush frame

  • direction seems right (leading big/outside link with trailing small/inside link) but the "top" of the chain should be the flat side with the curved bits to fit the teeth. No?
Or have I got mine on wrong....?

The one in the picture is the right way round, but inside-out. If that makes sense.

  • loving the little bit up to the stem.

  • It's not cinelli? (Just lugs?)

  • The orange Colnago and Holdsworth both made me do a sex-wee.

  • why the need for the dropped top tube on the 'cinelli'

Owner has particularly long balls that catch on top tubes?
