I sure, there hand made in Italy and its cheaper to get them shipped over rather then going to TFG who stock the Gara and special framesets
Yeah I figured they're made in italy, but by whom? huh?
-
• #32204

That is sexy! Really...
That saddle is a good call for distance, but the plastic bit that holds the rail on mine snapped after my bike fell over (!) had it for 2 weeks, no replacement.
Seriously though... SWEET ride!
Out of interest - what 2 ratios you got?

Eingang, what gearing are you gonna be on for that? How are you carrying all your kit?

Built this for a friend. Just need to sort the brakes. Seems cantilever ones are gay to set-up.
Top tip - put a beer matt or similar thickness item between each pad and the rim - pull cable till fairly tight - tighten, slide out matts.
Job done/

On loan from my Grandad, hopefully going to 'restore' it.
Ps. my friend has a nova that is faster than a ferrari :-)

Claud Butler late 40's early 50's I think, used for the velodrome and road racing. Been in his garage for years!
Thanks for comments :-)

ed_t, here's some inspiration;
Best thing about your grandfather's bike, it's already complete, just need some elbow grease, new bar tape, regrease, etc. and it'll right as rain in no time.

Lovely Claud. Is it a Brooks Sprinter?
-
• #32218
Yeh, I think it is the sprinter, very narrow!
It is fairly rusted but, it is complete and is definately usable with a bit of cleaning/greasing etc.
I love the old bikes, my usual bike for rides is this BJ and currently building a Raleigh Panansonic Track frame up for round town and commuting :-)
Better quality pic, but ndsf!

what's with the fork?

What's wrong with it ?
-
• #32223
easy rider clearance? why has it got a disc mount on the front? you rocking the disc brakes?
-
• #32224
yes disc mount on the front of the right leg so that a standard caliper can be used and fitting the mudguards is easy. Also it is where I believe they should have been in the first place ,)
hose routing will be internal to the lever.

It's a different compromise from the traditional position, only really viable with steel forks. The correct solution to the wheel ejection issue is a through axle.
Very nice, i would just keep the the A series, its a lovely classic. But you do get alot of power from the ztecs and type R blocks, seen them have a go at the 1/4 mile, most are under 14.5 secs. have you been to mini in the park or the retro show at santa pod with it?
