So....
Abus 100cm cable lock = 1.87kg
Fahg' U lock = 1.98kg
Total lock weight for leaving the bike anywhere I can't see it = 3.85kg
My Condor SS defo does not weigh more than my previous Madone 5.5 which weighed less than 8.5kg (17.2lbs in fact).. but let's just assume for simplicity the Condor weights 8.5, therefore 4.25 is half it's weight....therefore I stand by my post that the 'price' of security is almost half the weight of the bike again.
I have a very tedious obsesson about weight, and if I ever have the balls to ride fixed, you can rest assured the first thing that will be ditched will be the rear brakes etc. to save weight... I might leave the internal cable guides though to avoid a respray. I even have been known, chronicled elsewhere, to worry about bottle cage mountings.....
I'm a bit sad really.......
