  • Skully - where are you seeing these gum hoods? The Bob Jackson will be getting the old man treatment soon. Nitto Randonneurs have been bought. They're fucking ugly as sin but damn they look comfy!

^ Also....did you have to buy a pair of stoker levers and a pair of brake levers? If so, do you have the opposite levers around??

    Hey wools

Missed all that^ the other day. Soz.

Answer: Brixton got me the levers. I asked for one lever and one dummy. They didn't expect me to buy a pair of levers.

I didn't stipulate which side I wanted the lever for (they're shaped to be a right or left one), and they got me a left one. Which I'm glad about, I've come to the conclusion I prefer having front brake lever available when I'm indicating to turn right, more than when turning left. So I have the left lever.

Re: gum hoods, I know for a fact they are made (def Cane Creek, probly the tektro version of the same lever, I dunno), mostly only seen them on US retail websites though. Actually come to think of it, I think I was only looking for replacement hoods, I did find the levers at wiggle or somewhere like that. I would ask BC to try and get hold of them if I were you. They're called Cane Creek SCR-5. Scott has some on the Hipster Touring Bike and I liked em.

Nitto Randos yeah I was mulling them over when I was building the Yates up, and the Noodles too. I'm using B105RD, not easy to find but I'm really enjoying using them

Just put some of the old really sloping/flaring old GB Randos on my brother's tourer build, I thought they felt really nice. He was well chuffed. Shoulda taken a pic for this here thread ...
