  • Cheers!

  • You're welcome.

    2-1 Spain btw

  • I think Holland will win. I don't really care though.....

  • Better be spain

  • Why do I have so much trouble explaining my feelings?

  • England still have a good chance, you can't rule them out just yet

  • q. where can i get some cheap bar tape ?

  • I have a sneaky suspicion that that's already been answered. UTFS HTFU etc.

  • what's this?

  • Looks like the bastard offspring of a GT Zaskar and a Hetchins.
    I kind of like it...

  • By the same builder.

  • It isn't general anaesthetic, it just sedation, so you're still conscious, but yeah the dentist seemed to imply it wasn't worth it. 40 mins is about the limit of what i could bear though.

If it doesn't hurt it doesn't hurt I guess, but I'll sleep on it. Thanks for advice again.

I've had a lot of work done over the past year- two teeth that were broken off flush with the gum line had to have the roots dug out, then once the bone healed I had metal pegs screwed into the sockets.

Also inlays/major fillings to a large percentage of my teeth.

Everything (bar the original wiring up of my broken jaw) was done with local anaesthesia, just make sure that you go to a dentist that you are happy with.

  • what's this?

  • Gorgeous.

  • here's that info balki
    sorry i'm late

  • anyone able to answer these two for me?

  • Hello,

I am new to road cycling as I am starting Sprint triathlons this year. I have recently purchased a GT Series 3 bike. I go on a regular ride now of 11 miles and it takes 40 minutes and has a few moderate hills. Therefore 16.5 mph. My question is is this reasonable? And what benefit would I get from proper pedals and shoes. At this rate I will do the 24km of a sprint tri in about 50/55 minutes.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

  • Why do I have so much trouble explaining my feelings?

    alcohol-blood level too low.

At the moment it's hard to say. You might be able to shave 5 minutes off.
    Things to take into consideration:
    1) How long it's going to take you to get the shoes off and changed to running shoes. With a set of locklaces you should be able to do this in under 3 minutes making it worth it.
    2) Consider the difference between SPDs and Look type pedals/cycling shoes. Looks have a higher power transfer and therefore would make you ride faster. SPDs are far easier to run/walk short distances in and in triathlons you will have to do this due to no riding in transition. A prime example of this would be the Upton on Severn tri that my gf just did. The transition was over 50m long but you could mount within 10m of exiting it. However, on the return you had to dismount over 200m before entering the transition area. People doing this on Look type pedals were going slower and looking very unhappy indeed.

Two things that I would advise before you get cycling shoes. 1) Make your regular ride at least 30 miles, preferably longer. 2) Start doing time trials, at least 10 miles, it'll give you a feel for riding under race conditions.

  • Thanks for your advice. Greatly appreciated :)

  • Does anyone know if the colour on the machined part of a hplusson sl42 stays there long? might get dodici instead. first one to reply gets a warm fuzzy feeling of knowing you helped a newb.

  • Should I buy the next size up when buying road shoes??

    Thanks
