once in my many many hours on polo courts have i got my foot stuck in someones spokes, it did hurt, but i'd say it was a 5/10 in polo pain.
I honestly don't think naked spokes are an issue. i dont think disc wheels can be compared to such a fundamental thing as a bar end.
