me and my housemate bought the Carlton. sorry guys. if its any consilation it wast a brooks, isn't all original, and front forks had been nicely touched up by some fucked up paint.
Had to drive into the middle of nowhere, both phones ran out of battery, 2 pubs, angry dog, 2 alarms set off...and finally at 12.30 turned up and bought. They guy has around 200 bikes I'd say, odd. -

He said he got them off a guy that does house clearances. yeah, I was mentally jotting down interesting looking bikes as he showed them to me, reckon i could've come away with 3-6 decent bikes from there. he has a carlton pro am for sale (http://www.gumtree.com/london/62/61742762.html) but a lot more. Its annoying he's done this dumb job of painting the front fork, found it for my housemate and made sure we went and got it. but not sure what the best way of going about the restoration would be, re-chroming and a brooks is the start i think, its got a real mish-mash of parts, so that may need consideration.

ahh ok, makes sense i guess, he said he had other bikes but after the way he acted i don't want to deal with him, when i got the other bike he got pissed off i didn't come right away i dunno, weird,
if your happy with the bike awesome, i just found the way he dealed with it annoying, no one else I've dealt with sells things to 3-4 people and makes them race to him to get it first

the guy was a few pence short of a pound and an obsessive hoarder by the looks of things. We'll be bringing it down to Cranks next week, if your still around Brighton?
-
• #26464
i'm always around brigton, ha, yeah i didn't know what to make of the guy when i met him, but suffice to say i won't be seeing him again.
in fact i'm meant to be going to cranks on Friday with Tom. Bird to play with our bikes and get something ready for the paris run. if you there with it then awsome.

Questions and answers about this item
Q: Hi, Can you supply some dimensions, even if it's only what size inside leg rider it would suit. Cheers
A: my inside leg (!) is 30 inches, and the bike is a comfortable fit. Hope that helps.
Q: Hi, What size frame is this?? Thanks...
A: Hi - I'm not sure what the frame size is, but I am 6ft and its about perfect for me. -

^ 6' with a 30" inseam! Is his name Stumpy by any chance? The headtube makes me think it's about 56ish and it looks square. If those were his real dimensions the top tube would have be longer to accomodate his freakish frame...

EDIT: Sorry. It was the auction page for a Cannondale Road Race 3.0 (probably 1991), aluminum frame, fully dura-ace equipped, with cinelli bars and stem and selle san marco saddle.
I won the auction and wanted to know what you guys think of the roadie. It will be my first road bike in over 22 years... never rode an aluminum bike before.
thoughts?
