i love this adidas skirt. i have a dress that is similar to this on the lfgss poster. it has nothing to do with cycling but i love wearing it when i am on the bike
I thought it looked kind of familiar now you mention it :)
I think its just a pleated skirt with bib straps? I think its kind of an odd idea too, but it could look cool, I would probably just stick it over a uniqlo t-shirt (I <3 uniqlo thin t's) and leggings. It has pockets too, dresses with pockets are ace.

no, you're right - it's kind of cool as well as odd. I spent a happy hour this afternoon looking at all the odd clothing possibilities there (thanks for the link!). It was hard, but I drew the line at the silver leggings. I may live to regret this decision.

While I agree that pockets are ace, this is screaming St Trinians at me

Hmm, well someone was obviously keen on the dress because its sold out in my size now :( Will go along to the Oxford Street store tomorrow and see if they have any kicking around still...

• #135
i want to buy it too but i am scared as i haven't seen it
-

Well the website says that they do free returns, so if you do buy it from them online, and it turns out to be a total bin bag you don't lose anything? (other than the will to live when you have to queue for 45 mins in the post office)

you are right!

you don't even have to queue these days - you can print off your own postage labels and tape them to your parcel and Voila..!

Wish I'd know that a few months ago, could have saved myself a world of pain and rage in High Holborn PO!

GoEllis! a shirt to go with your pantaloons!
Actually I should wear the entire ensemble to go with my Michelin man image.

I've been searching high and low for more cycling trousers (3/4 mostly, please!) that can transfer into the office now that I am an office monkey. I typically have to ride my bike on visits with clients several times a week, too. Sometimes several times a day! I went on four home visits around the hills of south south London on Friday, oof! I have three pairs of cycling-specific trousers (articulated knees, gusseting and/or reinforced seat) but they're all black, and two are the same. So I can't wear them too often. I've found these http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/Womens/11/Gore_Bike_Wear_Countdown_Lady_3~4_Pants/5360048445/ but holy cow! They're 58 quid!
Now that the Swrve ladies line is going out of production, I'm thinking of having someone deconstruct a pair and make a pattern for me, altering here and there where I need a change. And also design a pattern for nice-looking pants I could wear on the bike or in the office, three levels -shorts, 3/4, and full-length. Now I just have to get off my butt and do it!! It would be lovely to have a bespoke pattern...

Jenne, shall I talk to Chris about this? I reckon he'd donate a pair to your cause.
Also if you haven't seen my other thread, Swrve discount period on at the moment, including the ladies 3/4's
http://www.lfgss.com/thread46309.html
Let's discuss on Monday, if you're at South's

Nice one Jenne. I'm happy to draw this up as well as the jacket, the polo padding modifications and the amending of your existing patterns that we discussed that time.
Seriously though, if you measure, I'll draw, it's not that hard. I drew a pattern for a messenger bag so this should be ok.
Or we could get an existing pattern for 3/4 and bike mod it which is what I'm doing for my cycling jacket.
Sad that they're not doing these any more. :( -

Do you think so? I'd love to have more of these pants but just can't afford them plus I want another color besides black.
I might be there on Monday, we'll see. Barring Extreme Lethargy is all.

What size are you? I'll have a word, thinking about it I'm not sure it will be allowed as you are effectively using their design, however - if they are no longer making them..then maybe it doesnt matter. I'll see how the land lies.
-
• #147
Well, I could make distinctions, for instance: I want to make the legs wider and see about either dropping the front waist more or raising it back up. But yes, I would be using their design. I could also sign something saying I won't sell them?
I'm a small.

a friend of emma jeans on the fifty fixed woman ride had some really cool trousers - cycling specific but looked very much like smart-ish skinny suit trousers.
i think they were quite expensive, and i can't remember her name either... possibly shouldn't have posted...

Brixton still have a few pairs of ladies 3/4 length Swrve shorts left...
They look perfect for Gerald. He's always looking for stylish modern sportswear.
